A Touch of Snow

We awoke this morning to a light dusting of snow…our first of the season.  The weather is predicted to turn colder in the next few days…with blustery winds and more snow/rain showers possible.  Sigh…It IS mid November but I am never ready for the cold.

Still, it was quite lovely this morning as the sun rose and the gentle coating of snow glistened softly.

IMG_3281It clung to the branches of this little spruce.

IMG_3284And to the straw in the empty gardens.   This willow still has its leaves…though not for long.

IMG_0586Even the greenhouse looks a bit frosty.  There is a stillness that seems to accompany snow.

The girls were not bothered at all and ran into the big run when I let them out.  They did their usual scratching and pecking..

…but were more than happy to come in again for some nice warm oatmeal.  Yum!

IMG_3298Merlin found some sun to bask in..

IMG_3294..but Fergus chose to sleep on the floor as Merlin had the couch.

So despite the snow, it was a pretty typical morning at Brookwood Shire.

And in the greenhouse…are the covers protecting the plants?

So far so good.
