Poor Fergus

A week ago, poor Fergus woke up with a swelling on his face..under his eye.  Given the position of the swelling, it looked suspiciously like an abscess on a tooth.IMG_0253He was not a happy boy.  We went to see his friends at the Veterinary Clinic and he did indeed have a broken tooth.  He was given antibiotics and we were told the tooth would have to come out.  Poor Fergus!

IMG_0256The antibiotics were magic, as they often are.  The swelling went down and Fergus was feeling MUCH better.

IMG_0288Life was pretty much back to normal until today.  Today he had to go in for his surgery to have the tooth removed.  And that meant NO BREAKFAST for Fergus this morning.  For a Lab, missing a meal or a treat is just about the worst thing that can happen.  He was devastated when Merlin got breakfast, the girls got breakfast….I had breakfast….but nothing for him.  He couldn’t believe it!

He was happy to see his friends at the Vet’s..they always give him treats…but not today.  He has to stay for his surgery today, but he will come home tonight.   We all miss him…we will have to make up for all the missed treats tomorrow.

And hopefully, soon, things will be back to normal.
