Merlin, the Wood Stove and Keeping Warm

So the wood stove is now fully functional. It had a bit of a factory smell at first but that is gone now. It is just the coziest little stove. We haven’t had to use the oil furnace today at all. We are very happy with the stove.
But not as happy as Merlin. Merlin is a cat that likes to be warm. He was found as a very young kitten on a very cold night and he has never forgotten. He generally sleeps on the heat register under the cabinet, but of course the furnace hasn’t been on. He will use Fergus as a warm place if need be but today he discovered the stove.

I put this little mat in front of the stove for him. It has catnip sewed into it and he likes it.

He tried it out for awhile.

But he had a better idea.

Now THIS is a nice warm place to sleep. “Put another log on, please,” he purred.

If he gets any closer I fear we will have roasted cat!

OH MERLIN, life is perfect for him. Glad that the stove is heating your house. Two of my Kitties are right in front of the pellet stove now.

He is blissful there in hits cozy corner. I think he approves of the stove.

That should be his corner, not hits…

  4. He LOVES it!! He is as close as possible without becoming roasted kitty..

Where did you get the mitten stand?? On the left of the stove??? I am looking for something just like that… thank you and if you could email me where you purchased I would be grateful.… again thank you.
