The Wood Stove

Last night my chimney sweep called. We had given up on him since he hadn’t returned our calls for weeks. We of little faith. No, he was all set. He can install the stove next week!
Decision time. We talked for awhile and decided on the smaller stove. He thinks it will be warm enough for our little house.

This is the one we will get. It is a Jotul 100 and it is supposed to be able to heat up to 1000 sq. ft. That will do us.
It will be lovely to have a cozy fire in the morning and watch the birds. And it will be nice to know that even in a power outage we will be able to cook and to keep warm. And it will be wonderful to be able to heat with something sustainable and not have to buy oil for the furnace!

I will miss eating at this table which overlooks the gardens.

But this smaller one is fine. It seems like a fair trade.

So it is settled. We will be ready for winter when it comes. Hopefully not for awhile yet. In the meantime I hope you have a very HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
